I have a NIKON R10 Super 8 camera that delivers INCREDIBLE images, but it is NOISY as **** . It's waaaaayyyy too loud.

For those not familiar witht he Nikon R10 camera, here is what the camera looks like, with specs :

I need to get a blimp for this, either custom made or possibly something that exists.

Can anyone help ? Know any place I can find what I need ?

    Sorry, one more joke.

Too bad there was no picture with this story.

If you are shooting out doors it's less of a problem.

Get a good shotgun mic with a two position cut off switch. Roll of the low end.

Shoot the sound takes with the camera on telephoto from a farther distance than what you might usually do.

Interior? make all the same moves!

You could custom make a sound barney .....out of quilted fabric...several layers front and sides ....

You could also turn your camera into a sandwich with pieces of sound absorbing foam ....see if a local radio station will sell you a few used pieces....it's worth a try. the stuff is pricey.

Or get a quieter camera for your sound takes, or loop the scene.

    Happy shooting.

With the advent of NLE, looping is more likely to look realistic, as long as you take due diligence in getting good takes.

The Nizo 6080 is a pretty quiet camera. I dare say some of the Chinon's are quiet also, although the quieter Chinon cameras tend to be a bit bulky.
